Use multiple accounts

You can own or belong to any number of accounts. Each account is its own world: it has its own handle, its own members, its own projects, and its own billing. Your role can differ per account — owner of one, reader of another.

Your primary account

The account created when you sign up is your primary account. It's the one that carries the always-free allowance — one free unit of each service type, forever. Other accounts never get the allowance.

Switch accounts

  1. Click the account selector at the top of the sidebar.
  2. Pick the account you want to work in.

The console reloads with that account's projects, and everything you do from then on acts as that account. The same switcher is in the avatar menu on the environment canvas.

Your default account

The console opens your default account when you sign in. Switching accounts also updates the default — it's a preference saved on your user, so it follows you across browsers and devices.

Create another account

Accounts beyond your first are payment-gated: they start without hosting, and the account isn't fully created until a subscription starts.

  1. Open the account selector and choose Create account.
  2. Claim a handle for the new account.
  3. The console takes you straight to the new account's Plans page — choose a plan and complete checkout.

Until payment goes through, the new account holds its handle and your owner membership, and nothing else. Every other action is rejected with a message telling you to finish setup; once the subscription starts, the account activates and you can create projects and deploy.

You can hold one unpaid account at a time — while one is waiting on checkout, creating another is refused until you finish that account's setup.

Accounts and API tokens

API tokens are per-account: a token belongs to a service account inside one account and can only reach that account. To work across accounts with the API, create a token in each.
